I've been looking into magazines that could give me inspiration for some things that I may want to include. This is not a horror magazine as I am not looking at any specific conventions but all of them which have used and picking out what I would like to use.
In my magazine I would not like to use many sub headings as this magazine cover has as I wouldn't want to take much attention away from the main movie on the cover and the picture as I want that to stand out and make an impact.
I like the use of the rule of 3 on the bottom left hand of the cover, making it that simple makes it easy for the audience to read. I would like to use the rule of 3 in my magazine however I would like to make up new film names to be more creative.
The plus sign on the right hand of the cover is a good way to show what else is in the magazine without using words, it makes the readers feel like they are gaining more from the magazine than just the new film, however it does this without taking any attention away from it.
The first sub heading 'The 27 most mind blowing movies ever' is good to use as it doesn't tell you any. The mind blowing matches with the mind blowing issue at the top with colour also. This makes the cover look organised and have a colour scheme making it professional.
I feel like with this magazine the things that I would not like to include is how many sub headings there are. I don't want the issue to be full that it doesn't look as scary as what it could. As it's not a horror magazine the colours that I would use would be completely different to this using dark lighting in my photo. However I like how this magazine is creative with the buildings in the mast head and behind as it links to the film. I need to think of creative ideas like this that I could use.
