There are four images above of 2 magazine covers and 2 posters for the film 'The Dark Knight'. With my Horror movie I have planned out that my two ancillary products are similar as its still with the girls face, however with a movie its more likely that the 2 photos are completely different as you can see above.
You can see that with the magazine covers it tends to focus on the one character rather than both which is the Joker and with the posters it works more on the Batman. This shows how they are both completely different but how you can still tell that they link together with the same thing when just looking at the picture.
You can see that for each picture all of them are different, with the magazines you have a long shot showing all of the Joker, seeing his outfit and the surroundings rather than just his face. This is effective as with his clothing its not something that you would normally wear and its a bit jokey which relates to him and his name when being the Joker and not taking things too seriously. The other photo for the magazine shows a close up of the Jokers face, this is also effective as it is what he is most known for - his make up, so therefore this would have been a good focus point. There is also direct address being used which makes the Joker look a lot more scarier and the audience a lot more involved.
With the posters you can see how serious the Batman is with the way he is standing and the camera angle as how it is low making him look more high, like he has the power. In the second photo you get the same type of feeling with the things around him and the equipment that he is using and the way he is using it as if he was to just be sitting on it, it would be boring.
With this I have to make sure that both photos are effective and different. I am going to have to think of new different conventions such as camera angles (Direct address and Low shot) to think of new ideas to have for my magazine as it is going to have to look professional and not the same.
